It's time to say goodbye, but I think goodbyes are sad and I'd much rather say hello. Hello to a new adventure. ~ Ernie Harwell
Well, you've made it to first year. Which means you're on an adventure. Filled with new classes, new roommates, new surroundings, it's an adventure of epic proportions. And we'd like to join you.
Whether you grew up in the church and are looking to discover following Jesus in this new context, or you're not really sure what you think, we'd love to get to know you better. As an Inter-Varsity community, we have staff and student leaders who are just waiting to hang out with you - go get coffee (or tea), answer your questions and hear about your first year experience.
Sometimes you'll just need a place to crash that isn't rez. Sometimes you'll want to hear from people who have been exactly where you're at and can lend some perspective. And sometimes you'll want to meet other first years who are living your same experience, right now. No matter what you're looking for, we believe that first year is a particularly significant transition period and so we've constructed our year and fellowship with you in mind. Here's how:
First-Year Ministry:
Considering first year is its own kind of adventure, we at Inter-Varsity have small group Bible studies specifically for first years. These small groups are on campus and will help you to navigate your first year with the help of Scripture. We are passionate about welcoming you into the Queen's community and helping you develop substantial friendships that will last throughout university and beyond.
Deets:
Wednesdays, 7:30 pm: Brock. meet us in the lobby.
Thursday, 7:30 pm: Vic Hall lobby.
Alix Nori is our First-Year Ministry Co-ordinator and she is super excited to meet the Queen's class of 2021! Alix will always make herself available if you want to grab a cup of coffee, ask a question, join a small group, or need help in some other area. If you want to contact her click here.
